About Us

Polar Screens and Signs is the "Sourdough" of the Kenai Peninsula. We've offered screen printing and sign painting since 1982, the oldest such shop on the peninsula. With 25 years of experience we've had the opportunity to work with all kinds of materials: wood, vinyl, glass, plastic, apparels, boats, autos, airplanes and even graduation caps. If we can't paint it, vinyl it, or screen print it, it probably can't be done.

We have an extensive selection of original Alaska-themed t-shirts and caps on hand. These are great gifts for visitors passing through, or for your friends and family in the lower 48!

History

In the early 80's, Lowell Choat, owner and operator of Polar Screens and Signs, graduated with two degrees: Commercial Art and Graphic Reproduction. Moving to Kenai was a business move, as well as a desire to have a safe, friendly place to raise a family. In the early years, we opened shop in the old Kenai Supply building, which is now a parking lot for Paradisos Restaurant. We spent a few more years by the airport in the buildings that are now occupied by Kenaitze tribe offices. We purchased a lot on the Kenai Spur Highway between Beaver Loop Road and Morgan Steel in 1996. We've slowly built the shop into what it is today!

We've been lucky over the years to serve such a great community and all the variety of businesses.
